Grade Two Program
The Grade Two Program is designed for children in grade two ( 7-8 year olds) to be delivered by guest presenters in the classroom, such as post-secondary students enrolled in healthcare faculties, community pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, public health and school nurses, interested parents, and others.
The program was piloted in Grande Prairie, Alberta (Canada) in 1998-99 and was successful in teaching children about handwashing and antibiotic resistance. Notably we found that education for grade two children resulted in significant uptake of key messages by their parents.
The Grade Two Program takes 50 - 60 minutes.
